My washer fluid has totally stopped working. Prior to that it barely came out ... just a few drops at a time, and only then if I held it in "spray" mode for quite a while. Unlike any other car I've owned where it sprays a steady stream. Yes, I've made sure there's fluid in the reservoir, the lines aren't frozen etc. I can hear the pump trying to pump.
2 questions:
1. How much fluid is supposed to come out with a normal functioning wiper fluid? (it comes out of the wiper arms)
2. Any suggestions where I should to start to look? I'm thinking something must be clogging the lines.
A good stream of fluid comes out when it is working properly. Since you said it was working but coming out slow and now it stopped
I would say the pump part of the motor is not working. The pump is mounted on the bottom of the tank so if you had a bad hose
it should be pumping the fluid out on the floor. I changed the tank on mine, you can take the small fender behind the tire off
and take a look, I can't remember if the back part of the wheel well needs to come off to change it, maybe someone else can
verify that. Hope this helps, good luck.
Of course if the hose was blocked it would not come out, you can remove the hose from the pump and try it,
if nothing comes out with the hose removed then its the pump, if it does come out the hose is probably blocked.
My fluid wasent working when I bought my car all I had to do was remove the washer bottle I had some fungus growing in there, so it had to removed the pump and clean it all out and that fixed my problem..hahahaha :yesnod:
