Default Rear cargo shade Question

hey guys
i realized my rear cargo shade is well a lil mucked up?
you know the dowel thing that has the handle attached to it that you actually pull on? well it seems like the dowel on mine is too long to fit so over time its been given a sort of curve now this curve in the doxel thing doesn't let the handle of the shade sit parallel to the floor it makes it want to flip down all the time and sit almost perpendicular to the floor and when i do use the shade since the dowel is curved the middle of my shade is nice and smooth and tight but the sides are all lumpy and wavy. can it be fixed?? or do i even need to care since i got a tinted rear hatch? but any help would be appreciated i realized the shade doesn't like to recoil on its own when its almost full rolled up so i got to manually roll it back up no biggie i'm guessing i didn't set the carpet back down properly after i installed the rear speakers or i'm guessing the fricken wiring harnesses for the old rear blose speakers are getting in the way again. but do let me know about the curved dowel piece is there anything i can do to straight it up such as maybe trimming a bit off of each side that sits in the tracks and then just try to bend it back into a straight shape?

thanks

 I forgot to answer the serious question  When you put the carpet back down did you get the rails put back exactually where they came off. I mean you could have made the shade bar too long by putting the rails too close together. If so, just realign the rails. If not you can cut off the ends alittle to keep the bar from bowing in the middle but you possibly could cut it too short and cause it not to fit in the rails again. My first thing I would check is the rails to make sure they are properly aligned, then I would check to make sure they are the same distance apart all the way. :) If these all check out then you have no choice but to cut the shade bar to fit inbetween the rails.

BTW Tabasco goes good on ANYTHING you eat.

The dowel on my 90 was curved down in the center too. It did not cause the trouble you seem to be having but it looked odd. With the shade pulled forward I got hold of the dowel in the center and pulled up and bent it back into shape. It must be a soft metal rod as it did bend. I had no problem with the length to deal with, you may have to remove and hack saw yours. Hope this helps.

 just like you boots, to slam the joke before answering the question ;)

and nope the shade has been like that even before i started working on the stereo and the speakers and removing the carpeting. so i dunno i'll see if i can take it out sometime when the weather is good here and work on it or see if the rails were not aligned since the cars was at the dealer or with the previous owner. i just noticed that since i finished the speaker install that when the shade is almost rolled all the way back it stop and i got to roll the rest back myself and i assume that the old bose wiring harnesses are in the way or the carpetting isn't set down properly. i'll give both a shot in a few days when its dry here.
