I like my Craftsman digitork wrenches. I had one calibrated two years after purchasing and it was dead on.

You can get a decent Craftsman Microtorx torque wrench on sale for about $60. If you aren't a member yet you can join Craftsman Club for free. They have special savings for club members about four times a year typically saving about 5-10% on sale items.

Join the Craftsman club and they are on sale this week for $59.99. I have the 3/8" in-lbs one as well as the 1/2" and 3/8" beam style ones. Here is the link for the sale: LINK go to page 14-15 to see them. If you aren't a member yet, just tell them you haven't gotten your card yet - they usually have their own they'll swipe for you.

If your an occassional user, a number of guys on the c5 side have recommended harbor freight, I picked on up there for around $20. appears to be accurate.

I've read about that one too. Not all of the HF stuff is crap! Their 1/4" one is pretty good too, I hear. If you'd like to see more than you'd ever need to know about the different torque wrenches on the market, go to garagejournal.com/forums and search for "torque wrench". They use the same layout that this forum does.

Buy one from Summit Racing, it's part number G1055 I think and it's made in the U.S.A. and for $79.00 bucks if memory serves me. I really like Precision Industries split beam torque wrenches as they do not have to be set to zero when you put them away. They made all of Snap Ons torque wrenches for years however they no longer do so,you can buy them without the Snap On head for a couple hundred bucks and they are excellent.
