Window will not do anything. Switch was tested and is getting power. Power motor was replaced. Is this a bad wire situation? If so, is there a common wire to look for? How do I go about finding the bad wire of the group? thanks
Did you plug into the right harness? Both the mirror and the door use the same connectors. Its actually possible to plug the door into itself in a loop but to no controls. Ask me how I found that one out.
Lift up the panel and make sure the power harness for the door connects to the motor and the other plugs into the power mirror control. Just an idea. Too my defense I was working real fast and at night
The mix up on the plug is not the problem because my review mirror works just fine. Any other ideas? This is a recent problem so it shouldn't be a big one. I just need some advice.
1. Sometimes the connectors on the motors lose the elasticity to maintain their grip in the motor half of the connector.
2. If your car sits out in the sun a lot, I have found that GM coated the insides of these motors with some sound absorbing gick.
When it gets really hot, this gick (it's black tar like) begins to move under it's own weight and gets on the commutator inside the motor.
The brushes when it was a light film begin to build up some on the inside edge, and when the window is stationary for weeks, this gick floats onto the commutator, and the motor brushes no longer get contact, and the motor doesn't run.
The best solution is to take the new motor apart and clean the black junk back about an inch past the brushes, so if it does begin to migrate, it will be a long while till it gets to the brushes.
Just bend the tabs away from the center part, and gently disassemble.
Reassemble is as gentle, but takes a little bit of coordination.
You really need to post the year. I'm assuming it's the 95 you are having problems with. It's real common to have problems with the driver side passenger switch which will override the passenger door switch on the 90-96 vettes. Try disconnecting the driver side switch and reconnecting it. I just had this problem on my 90 ZR-1 (had to replace the driverside switch)

Does the drivers side power window controller power the passenger door window? Im Trying to rule out the passenger power switch
Already tried the battery thing, and it runs fine with a battery on it. =)
Please don't tell me that the window ground is on the vette's power radio antenna bracket!!!! Because I took my power antenna out for now. ?????
But then again, the window was not working before I took that antenna out...odd.
I don't think it is the passenger side switch because I bought a brand new one and it didn't fix the problem.
Can someone email me a wiring diagram for the passenger window for a 1995? My email is uselessvitality@yahoo.com.
Check weatherstriping for binding. Open door then try door switch. Pull or push on glass to free binding. Try the simple stuff first. Also if your going to keep this car buy all manuals they will save you a lot of money and if you dont keep thebcar e-bay the books you will probaly have no problem selling them.the first thing i bought for my 93 when i ordered the car was the helms book. Another thing ask a lot of questions in this forum it has a lot of talented people. Save the wave!
