Default Clean Wheels

What can be used to clean the original 1984 wheels,their in good shape just need cleaning. Thanks

try a metal cleaner/polisher like nevrdull or brasso. worked for me!

I think those wheels have clear coat paint on them. Clean with a mild degreaser soap with pressurized water and then after clean, hand wax and polish.

If you did what this guy said you know you now need to have the wheels refinished because this stuff just screwed them up.The clear coat on these wheel is extremely fragile and the age of the finish doesnt help.I would use the car wash stuff that wont strip wax,this diluted should work.

He is right. Use car wash stuff only. Anything else too abrasive.

May have to get them re finished and cleared.

If the wheels clear coat is already shady then the Neverdul will not matter. But it does sometimes help to bring them back a little. You're not going to make them look like new but they will shine up better. Something to make it look a little better till refinishing or another set of rims.

I use plain old car wash solution to clean the wheels on my '84.

If your wheels are really messy, you might start with Simple Green.
