Ok even though this subject has been adressed several times, i have yet to see anyone who has the blackout kits on a dark read metallic vette. anyone have any pics of this?
im thinking about getting them for my 92 dark red coupe and just want to make sure i like them, i have black wheels as well.
black wheels will help with the blackout. Post a picture of your car and ill photoshop the blackout kit on it, give ya a feel for what it might look like.

I think blackout kits would look really nice. The only problem is your options. The static cling ones dont stay on during normal driving, and the plastic ones have fitment issues, or so I've heard. The route I went with on my old car (02 Civic) was buying tint spray paint from a hobby shop. It's meant to tint plastic, and it dissolves in mineral spirits. You take off whatever piece you want to tint (or mask around it), put on as many coats it takes to get the level of tint you want, and you're done. It even has a clearcoat that's matched to it. If you make a mistake and make an uneven tint, or get darker than you want, you just scrub it off and start over again
yeah ive thought about that ( vht nightshades of what have ya) when you did your civic did you have to scuff up the surface of the light or anything, in other words how did you prep the area before you painted it.
I just cleaned it real well with Windex. I actually painted the inside of the clear plastic cover, so that it wouldn't fade or be affected by weather, so it was already pretty clean. I'd say just clean them religiously and you should be good to go.
For the fog lights id suggest the actual plastic covers, they fit really well and hold up well to weather and such. The rear taillights however i didnt like the fit of the covers, so id suggest the spray on like said prior. here are some pics
