The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
First...since I'm sure you're going to be travelling Interstate 10 on the way home between Cali and LA, you're obligated to stop in El Paso, show me the car, and buy me a beer. Sorry, part of being a n00b. Don't worry, I don't drink all that much....but it's considered common courtesy to let me drive the car. I'm sure you understand.

In all seriousness, sounds like you've found a cool car....and you'll thoroughly enjoy the road trip home. It wasn't a Vette, but I flew out to Los Angeles a few years ago, bought an old car, and drove it 800 miles home....VERY fun road trip, had a great time. No better way to get to know your new car. Take your cell phone, and if you run into trouble within 120 miles of El Paso either direction, give me a call and I'll arrange for you to be rescued. Also have a garage, tools, and a slight amount of knowhow on these old beasts after owning one for 11 years....if it hiccups, we'll get you back on the road. PM me for my phone number.
Have fun....enjoy the trip...OH...almost forgot....a cashier's check is your friend. Use a bank like Chase, Bank of America, etc like the others mentioned with a contact number so the seller can verify that it's legitimate, and all will be well.

You go buy the car and I'll stay home with the girl in your avatar.
When you get back I'll give you my boat and you give me your new Vette. I'll already have the girl. We'll both be happy.

It looked to be more of a sand bar than a town. I hope to get back there soon even though I don't care much for catfish.
