Default key pellet

How can I find out the correct resistance for my car 1988. The pellet in the key changes.

use a multi meter and touch a probe to each side of the pellet, make sure your meter is set to read ohms

Once you know the acceptable range for your code (see http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c4-t...-wear-out.html ) you can get a good buy on replacement key blanks that with the proper Vats pellet, any key shop can cut...phone them @ 800-848-6989. I got mine cut at ACE hardware for a couple bucks

You can go to a good locksmith. He will put your key in a tester that can tell the #code for the key. I had it done with a new key made (he had the blank) for around 14 bucks
