Default Corvetteforum Suggestion time!

Over the past year or two we've been working very hard on the infrastructure of Corvetteforum. We've done things like upgrade the server a few times, try out different BB scripts, etc...

We've also added automated Product Reviews, automated Tech Tips, the CF mall, the C4 restoration store, the featured Corvette, new free home page software, events calendars, regional coordinators, and a few other things.

We've also spent a lot of time/money promoting the site. We've run ads in Corvette Fever, etc...

Now it's time for you to tell us what you would most like to see on Corvetteforum As always, we get many of our best ideas from our members. This is your chance to tell us what is most important to you in the way of new features.

Please feel free to add your own choices to this poll.

Hmm. I'm pretty happy with the forum how it is. I can't really think of anything that I'd like to see improved, unless you gave a free C5 to all new members.

Forget the flash, stick with substance.

How about cleaning up the generation General areas? They look like mini OT sections. You want to keep the Corvette enthusiasts interested in coming back (and so do the supporting vendors). If those sections look like playgrounds new members probably won't return.

Those ads on the right side fo the vendors/etc. gotta go. Way too long, and add too much in size to the page. Text links are perfectly fine.

I like how everything is going so far. But, I do have one concern. We have tuners and vendors that will get you as fast as you can afford to go but what about helmets. At most tracks once you bust 14.0 you need to have one.

Spring is coming and helmets will need to be bought. :yesnod:

You won't find it in the CorvetteForum Mall.

I disagree. I think it's great that each generation has their own "OT" type area. OT is so large that you can kind of get lost in the shuffle. The individual OT sections are where some of the best discussion takes place. I think it helps build comrodery (sp???) among specific generation owners. For those that are interrested in strictly tech info, each generation area has plenty of it. I don't see how the "playgrounds" would steer anybody away.

yeah I typically stay in C4 GD and only occasionally venture over to C6 GD or OT. I'd say the topics are pretty good at staying on C4 discussion, and I don't mind the occasional off topic thread here.

Oh yeah..OT is great for BABE pics, though!! :yesnod:

In the last couple days C4G has had:

Babe threads (unmarked no less)
Marital status polls
Loan me money threads
Picture site hosting threads
Kill threads (Kills has it's own section)

None of which belongs in C4G as I understand the purpose of it. C4G isn't OT for people who own or are interested in C4s. It's for non-technical discussions about or relating to C4s.

Just my $0.02

That reminds me, OT needs a major overhaul. I've seen topics fall into the 2nd page in well under an hour, especially w/ all the Babes posts flying around and locked dupe posts. More OT sections are needed. For instance take a hobby poll. The top 2 or 3 hobbies get thier own dedicated section. Or most often talked about topics get one. We could have babe section, sports section, music section...... :)

Oy

See, that would be C4G material. It's a hardtop for a C4.

What's your point?

I wasn't picking on individuals when I listed my examples. But there is a [HELP] section if you need help with something.

We could add more organization to OT. Take a look at http://www.vwvortex.com . Go into the forums and then into vwvortex community. They have a bunch of different sections for different discussions.

They do. But this gets to something only you can decide. Is this a Corvette forum or an "all things to all people" forum? Expansion is good. Too much expansion is not.

It's definitely a Corvette site and will always remain one! :)

If we decided to add more organization to OT it wouldn't be to expand the site, it would be to add more organization to already existing discussions.

btw... I'm not making that suggestion. I'm just getting feedback on it. Thanks for the input. :)

I think that the "Loan me money" topic should have been in the General Discussion because it was about a C4  :D

Seriously though, my vote was for stats/specs of corvettes. I hate having to go to Corvette Action Center everytime I want a specific item known about the car. I dont want to leave this webpage. If you can put how many red converts there were in 1987, then that would be a nice item that red conv. owners of 1987s would like to know. (just an example). Also, tell us what changed every year (even if something VERY minor happened).

I also like the C4 registry.
These little things all help the big picture, I like the forums the way they are.

Remember, alot of little things = a big thing. :yesnod:

I'd like to be able to insert images into the forum without having to post it somewhere else and link it. Similar to how http://www.sierra.com doe's there forum. I'd also like to see some better avatars. If it'd be cool with the admins, i'll make some to replace the current ones. I do some graphic work and ought to be able to replace some of them.
