I want to do a lot of work on the Vette I bought last summer. It was in pretty poor condition, especially the interior and engine and am having a little bit of trouble knowing what it looked like when it was new.

I have scoured the net looking for good pictures of the interior, engine compartment, ect... but it leaves a lot to be desired. Along with the Shop Manual, can anyone recommend any resources where I could find some good pictures of many different areas of my car? The more angles and zooms the better.

Like for instance, my door panels have visible screws holding them on in some places. With the condition my car was in, it makes me wonder if they are original or if some jack *** before me decided to put a screw through the door panel. Seems like half the screws overall throughout my interior are missing. Most of the panels throughout the car are missing screws. The interior is red and black, which come to find out is not an OEM color combination. And the functionality of my MPG gauge along with a few other functions does not work and my service engine soon light also stayed on. Doing research I found out that it could possibly be because my car has a computer from a different year. I have a freakin frankenstein car.

It would be helpful to know what year Vette you have. I have a 96 so if that is what you have, I can take some pictures this weekend.

Oops, thought I mentioned that. I have a 1990. Same dash as the 1996 I think, maybe a few slight differences. I will look into getting that book. I have aquired quite few photos over the last few months. I always save the good ones as I come accross them, like in the photo albums and such.

I gutted and replaced my interior last year. During that project I thought about stripping everything out and putting it back together with a race car look. Very spartan with no frills. I had already purchased all the interior peices so I didn't do it. Has anybody done this?

I would also be curious about any interior modifications anyone has ever made. I am looking to get into bagging fiberglass and carbon fiber so I could redesign and replace many different parts with carbon fiber. I really like the cockpit feel of the Vette right now though, however it would be kind of hard to replace the dash cluster with square LCD screens which is what I would like to do so I can display gauges anyway I want.

For one thing I am going to put sound deadening materials throughout as I am fixing and replacing whats already there, although I hate the weight gain (im guessing around 100lbs), I think overall it will be well worth it when your doing down the freeway and you can talk on a hands free phone in a normal tone of voice.
