well i haven't touched the car in about 2 months. it was nice outside and i needed to swep out the garage so i uncovered the car and wow. there is about a 12 inch crack on the left side of the top. I have no idea how this happened. Maybe the climate inside the garage, i havent been running the heater trying to save energy. im in north carolina so it dont get super cold but thats the only reason i can come up with why it would crack like that.
My top cracked this summer... I called up my insurance company and it was covered under my glass coverage so I got a new top from Melrose T-Tops free of charge.

Just happened to me a couple of months ago. Insurance paid for cost of new top minus deductible. Melrose will rebuilt your top for $600.00.
I have a solid top thank god. I had a clear top before and the summer was awful in it. I had it repainted and am about to insulate it with dynamat, add fresh foam, and recover it. Reduce noise and help block out heat. Glass tops are pretty but a real pain to keep up and bear with. You can get a cover for the inside of it to block the sun but it did no good for me. Goodluck though!!!

You are lucky to have both. I would never go back to a glass top even if it was free. It was like a sauna in there. Brownie points to you for being able to bear the glass top. Plus, I think the glass top has more flex than the solid one.
pretty weird, i will be calling up Hagerty's on monday and see what we can do about it. thanks for the information and letting me know it hasnt just happend to me
Same thing here on my clear top...just noticed it was cracked one day, no clue what did it?
I tried both caulk and silicone to fill it...I then used my pea sized brain - "black electrical tape" the pea shouted!...no leaks, and no peel while driving.

Let me know how you make out with that. They told me it wasn't covered because of the age "normal deterioration and inherent defect"
good luck
yeah , they told me the same, they are known to break due to age and it is not covered. i ordered a new Glass top last week, so it should be here some time this week. hadn't planed on this but oh well. sh*t happens
i didnt get mine for $450, i got mine for $579 with a $250 refundable core charge. it was the best price i could find. and the best customer service i could find so that is where my money went to.
Happened to me last year. I used the search function and came up with the name of an industrial grade acrylic cement. Googled it and had a half pint sent out cheap. Applied with a wooden toothpick and welded the damage shut.. no more growth. Would love a replacement but it's not in the budget right now.
Drew Thompson is a good guy at Thompson Tops. I got a good price because I drove there. No core charge and he even installed the top and showed me how to Adjust the mounts properly. He also found a couple of trim parts in his attic that I needed and sold me them to me for $50.
