Default Gas Disposal?

Anyone out there ever had to dispose of gas/fuel in the past? Where
did you "dump" it or get rid of it? What is recommended. I'm sure
there would be a concern for safety. Any advice would surely be
welcome. Thanks

Put it in a gas safe container first. Check with the city, they may have a place where you can take it or at least maybe they can give you some guidance on how to dispose of it properly. The Fire Department also may give you some insight. Here the city of Columbia, Mo has a drop off point you can take hazardous waste to. Look in the phone book under hazardous waste. just some ideas.

when it's not a lot of gas, I put it in the oil change pan in the and let it sit in the sun to evaporate--better than ending up in the ground water

Used it up in my tractor. Even old fuel will burn if mixed with new, though maybe not as powerful.

I'd be concerned burning the old fuel may cause the rings to coke/stick.
Happy it worked for you though.

unless it is like goo it should be fine for lawnmowers etc.

Evaporate is why they have the large nozzles at the pump
Evap = ozone

I have always mixed old gas with new and burned it in the lawn mower,ATV,and small tractor. It even works fine if the old gas is mixed ie outboard gas.

Most parts stores will take it. Try calling auto zone or advance auto.

How old is it? The stuff's too expensive not to use. Surely you've got a lawnmower or something that can use it.

Yo Guys, as stated in a recent thread of mine, I have suspected bad
gas (water/dirt) in the tank that may be causing the roughness I've
encountered the last 2 weeks. I'm down to the "reserve" tank or about
2 bars so I thought about siphoning the remainder gas/water and
disposing of the stuff/.

Some people take the old age of gas too serious. I have used old gas even untreated, in all kinds of vehicles, and tools.... Unless it is varnish it should be fine if you burn it up right away. Unless it is years old.

I'm just cheap, even for 2 or 3 gal.I would let the water / dirt settle out, in a closed container then syphon off the good stuff and use it in something.

find a cement parking lot and just spill it. it will evaporate very fast.

I'd use 1 gallon at a time with 5 gallons fresh gas. it won't hurt anything.
