Cooling Fans
Quick question, what temps are the cooling fans in a 93 LT1 set to kick on? In my C3 I can run all day and it stays under 190 degrees, but the C4 is all over the board. It never over heats, but I'm just curious how these are designed and if they can be changed to kick on sooner or are they just designed to run a little warmer?

Varies but usually 225 main / 228 2nd fan.
For emission purposes GM made the engines run hotter.
1990+ have both fans are controlled by the ECM.
Can get on/off settings changed on ECM or
install a temp switch in the head that will cut in fans sooner
or install a manual over-ride switch.
