I was wondering if any of you have gotten a Corvette Headliner Blackout? It supposedly acts as a headliner for your glass top which reduces heat, noise and of course sunlight in the cabin.
I am planning on getting one of these because my 96' CE came with only the glass top unfortunately.
I use the top panel solar shade from MAM. It's static cling and has stayed put for over a year now. It makes the "blue" acrylic top look deep black from the outside but you can still see the sky through it from the inside. It seems to keep the car a little cooler also. I think they come in black or grey. I have the black one.

i had the static cling one and it worked well. but i decided i wanted something a lil more classy looking and made my own head liner. i took some suede and had it quilted in a diamond pattern and then i took a large piece of mat-board and cut it to the shape of the targa and then covered it with the quilted material and used velcro strips to hold it up. looks great!

Here's a link to one I am looking at getting: http://www.mamotorworks.com/corvette...1-163-708.html
Thanks for your help in advanced!
Unlike most responding, I had the static type and never had much success in getting it to stay on...BUT, even it had stayed on it would have not reduced the heat from sun. The MAM type you are considering is the best $69+ I ever spent. I have used this type sun blockout for the past 16 years in 5 different C4s and would never be without one. BEAST2's painted top has never been installed in the past 4 years. The glass top with the padded blockout is all that's needed, esp when we are driving in 100 degree heat areas! Spend the extra $40and get the best.

I too tried the static cling but it didn't work to good. I bought the Corvette Headliner Blackout just like the one in the link and it works great. You'll be happy that you bought it. It really keeps the heat out.
I bought the static cling one from Ecklers, but I have never been able to have it stay on. Any suggestions?
I've never had any trouble with mine. I think I just followed the directions that came with it. I took it off my car and laid it top side down on my bed so I wouldn't scratch it. I think you just spray on some diluted soapy water, position the liner and work the bubbles out toward the edges of the liner. After I had the bubbles out I gently wiped the excess moisture off the headliner and waited a while for it to dry before I put it on the car. I've only had the top on and off 5 or 6 times since I put it on so I haven't handled it a lot. It has stayed put really well so far. The MAM website probably has the directions if you've lost yours, as I have. From the other posts here it sounds like the more expensive headliner does a better job of cutting down on heat though.
