Got an 88 takes forever to start sometimes. Like it's out of gas. when it does this code 54 pops up. I look it up and it says fuel pump circuit voltage low, and it says check fuel pump circuit for shorts or damage. Ok where do I begin?
I put the fuel pressure guage on her, and turn the key to access no pressure. Crank and no pressure, I take aprt the pump relay and manipulate it myself and she shoots up to 40+ and starts right up. So do I need a relay or is there more to this "circuit" thing, where would I look?
I just got this on my '85. It only happens if its been sitting for a few days and the battery voltage gets a little low. Its hard to start but always starts, just takes a little longer. I have a new pump, filter, AFPR, and injectors so i'm thinking its a bad relay? Can anyone confirm this?
Oh and this really should be in the Tech section, just FYI.
