I can't figure out why the Manual 6 Speed Shifter on my 96 LT4 moves up into the tunnel area whenever the transmission is in gear and the car is under load???
It does not move down just up????
This is driving me nuts. Everything seems tight underneath??
I put it on a lift this afternoon, and could not find any bolts that were loose. Everything seems tight. I even placed a jack on to the drive line, if you attempt to move it, you move the whole car on it's suspension.
But didn't eliminate it entirely. I really don't think it can be completely eliminated, just minimized. Some cars do it worse than others.
Even now, with a solid axle and my tranny completely rigidly mounted, I still have just a bit of that. Though my motor mounts could be going bad, I doubt it. I think unless you have solid mounts you are going to have a little rise.
