Default Center console trim plate.

Hi folk's. i need to replace my center console trim plate. I thought i could just take the old one out and screw in the new one. There seems to be an electrical plug underneath the P-R-D-2cnd gear-1st etc? Also can i use the shifter boot that's allready there?, or do i have to buy a new one??. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Also it's an 84- with an auto trans.

I think the plug you are thinking of might the be the light that lights up the PRD12 section. It should just screw right out and Yes you can use old boot.

Yes that plug is just a twist-lock into the socket under the shift plate.

Since you have a 25yr old shift boot, might be time to replace it with a fresh one from Red Line.
