Default Screwed! (door handle problem)

The passenger side inside door handle recess of my '92 coupe is loose, and the screw is missing. I figured to pull the drivers side to measure the screw I need to get. When I did, I heard something drop down inside the door, and now the screw just slides in and out of the hole - obviously there was a nut or something else on the back side which engages the screw. Any suggestions? Most likely I'll have to take the whole door panel off....? Thanks!

I have the same problem on my 93. How did you fix yours?

Unfortunately, yes...you will have to remove the door panel. Should be a nylon fastener that snaps in a hole and the screw threads through the middle of it. You will find it in the bottom inside of your door.

On the flipside it won't cost you anything but your time to fix.

Then you can close the door to this problem and move on to the next.
