Default Ques. about dash "curling"

I have a 1996 Collector Edition LT1 AT. My question is the dashboard on the pass side is beginning to curl up where it meets the A pillar and windshield. Has this happened to anyone elses? How can I fix/repair like new? Does anyone know how the material is is secured? I am pretty **** "like most vette owners" and since the car is in mint cond. it is really irritating me. Any help is most appreciated. Thanks for the responses.

Its vinyl layered over plastic with a slight foam core. Heat causes them to crack underneath and start to curl above the stress cracks. I would suggest buying a high quality dash mat to protect the rest of the dash and hide the lifting. You really cant peel back the area to apply liquid nails or another type of adhesive to make a repair. Trying to peel it back would probably make the cracking and the area worse. During the repair process you also also could get adhesive/glue crap everywhere of the repair process. In order to make an effective type of "bonding" repair you would need to pull the dashpad from the car and repair the underside of the area. If you going to do that hell replace the unit with a new unit and them still buy a dashmat.

Any idea where I could get a new unit, or do i need to get one from a part-out? Thanks for the help and insight.

The problem with the part out is they tend to break in the area right above the glove box where the dash pad meets the windshield during the removal process. If you could find one local that would be the way to go after it. What looks great on the surface tells a different story on the underside. I suggest local because you can inspect it onsite. Shipping the entire dash pad can be difficult and prone to damage as well. I believe most parts houses have them Madvet, Ecklers and such. Again if you can live with it Ecklers sells a real nice molded Dash mat with the correct Corvette script logo on it that will cover this issue. If you decide to go the replacement dash route, model years 94-96 have the same dash as your looking for. Good luck GC
