Default Somebody Help

I posted a thread yesterday and nobody answered. I need a new muffler and pipe from the cat and was thinking of some serious upgrades. What kind of headers could I use? I'm worried about what sensors I have. I have a 1984 Vette.

There are headers available with ports for the sensors. Very pricey. Also you've got an 84 with the crossfire and not much horsepower. I don't think you'll get very much for your money with headers.
Replacing the system from the cat back will not be hard and should not break the bank.
I needed new muflers only and was lucky to find some here. A member near by had a new set for sale after he up-graded his car.
Try posting with the title "Need new exhaust, headers?"

Headers are available however this is not an easy swap nor is it cheap. The cheapest way to dramatically improve your exhaust is to buy a complete LT1 exhaust from the cats back. I sold my stocker for $75.00 and sometimes they are even free. The LT exhaust is 2 3/4 stainless steel and a real dual exhaust. I would buy a stock LT1 exhuast and take it and the car to the local muffler shop and let them have at it. Couldn't cost more than a couple hundred bucks total and if you want more noise have them remove the factory resonator

I am not sure about your 84 but I would think it should be the same as my 86. What I did for a exhaust upgrade for not a lot of money was replace the front "Y" pipe w/o precats, new free flow cat and Magnaflow catback system. This really opened up my L98 and everything including labor to install was $1049. The performance was very noticeable. Hope this helps.

Mid America catalog has some muffs and a rear y for about 300 and change. Your car already has shorty headers, long tube headers would be an improvement but also an expensive hassle. Hedmans are the cheapest I've seen (noncoated).

Sounds like you need a catback system. The sky is the limit on this..
You can shop till you drop. The only question is how much do you want to spend.
