Default ZF shifter question

I am building a custom '59 Jagaur Roadster (from a sedan) and using a 6speed ZF transmission I purchased on ebay. It is mounted and appears to be in very good condition. My questions is, what do I need to make the reverse lockout functional? Or can I eliminate the lockout without likely damage? The shifter came with the stick and I notice an internal piect inside. I have found a couple of shift ***** on ebay with the button, but do I need anything additionally? Any help is appreciated!

The small cylinder that runs down the middle activates the reverse lockout. There should be a ring that slides over the outer shaft and a set screw to hold it to the inner small shaft. If you do not have these then you can disassemble the shifter and remove the lockout with no ill effects.
