Even some of the stock wheels were made in Japan (Enkie) or Kelsey-Hayes of Mexico.
The 96 Grand Sport wheels were made by A-Mold Corporation located in Ohio. The Z06 wheels on my 02 coupe are made by Speedline which is an English corporation.
Back in 98. I bought a set of AFS wheels for a 92 vert I had at the time and those were made in Japan. Japanese wheels are typically made to very high standards and the wheels that meet their standards have a "JWL" logo on them Here's a link that has pics of the JWL logo on a wheel.
There are probably lots of aftermarket wheels that are made in the US. As mentioned, Centerline, Boyd's are two examples and there are probably more. I would not worry any about wheels marked as made in Japan or Europe.

My originals were made in Japan. No problems whatsoever. I have Azevs since at least 6 years ago. Thumbs up!

Also, is OP okay with wheels designed and tested here and made somewhere else? I'd have no problems with plants in Germany, China, Peru, or whatever if they were certified ISO 9000 or quality assured.

Arf !
I want to keep mine and I asked a pro I know to
balance them, redo the edges and renew the polished clear coting.
He told me around 200 euros per wheel.
This make me hesitate with aftermarket wheels I saw in here that
I does not like much....
