Default front emblem

Front emblem on my 85 is of the black flag variety. Shouldn't it be red? Although it looks good on gray.

the front emblem should be the circular c4 emblem that is slightly angled looking and theres is a black and with checkered flag on the left and on the right should be red with a gold chevy bowtie. do you mean your right is black with just an outline of the chevy bowtie in red? if so you got the wrong emblem on your car, the one you say you have is meant for 91-96 model c4's hmm if it was my car it'd irritate me since the rest of the emblems must all be different right? whatever the decal on your steering wheel is should be the ones on the exterior of the car including in the centercaps on the wheels. but if you like it then keep it :)

Thanks Davin, now I've got a decision to make. Like you, I think it's going to bug me too.

True it should be red with a gold emblem...I changed both of mine (Gas cover and hood) to the 93 emblem because I think it looks better with my paint scheme. It doesn't match the emblems in the wheels but who cares?

 "Yep yer gonna be real picky about your car hell i bet if i hadn't of said a thing you would gone on not bothered by it at all." thats why my friend always says whenever he and i compare each others cars he has an 86 which is identical to mine only hes got 400 horses under the hood, blue leather interior and 5 star chrome rims. I swear to this day if i didn't have him to compare my car to i wouldn't be so picky, aren't you glad you got so many of us fussy guys here on the forum?? :D

and those emblems if you are serious about changing them start looking on ebay i am sure you can get them there for cheap you shouldn't have to pay more than 18US dollars for them (thats without shipping costs added). i hear www.tld-corvette.com is a great site to order things like this from also you can try to see if you can get used ones from http://www.contemporarycorvette.com/ and if you do decide to call contemporary corvette ask for ron and say you were told about contemporary from the corvete forum. good luck on your decision.

If you replace it, I could use the one you have if you want to be charitable.I hate to sound cheap, but I got laid off a while back and anything costing more than "zero" sends a panic in to me. :nopity ;)

I opted for the 1991-96 style emblem on my 90, I think that black fits well with the red. Great combo.
