Mine was working one second great and then randomly stopped functioning. It won't work in it's proximity settings or clicker mode. I replaced the battery in it to see if that but it wasn't. Now I have to use my keys to open my door and I'm apparently really lazy because I don't like it. What could've broken?
Re: 94 - present, The auto locking key chain (Turners SN)
are you talking about the Passive Keyless Entry system on your corvette?? umm i got no clue about it but hopefully one of the folks who does have it will notice this thread so i'm sending it TO THE TOP for you.
Re: 94 - present, The auto locking key chain (Turners SN)
Turner SN: I believe your pke may have a faulty transmitter if the battery is not your problem. There is a small weight inside which rattles and trips the t/m when there is movement. Mine had a problem like that (94) and GM said that I needed a new or replacement unit. If you can borrow someone else's pke and program it to work in your vehicle, you can diagnose whether it is your unit that is faulty or the system. Re programming directions are on this net or in your car manual. it is very easy to do.
Re: 94 - present, The auto locking key chain (jiml94)
Is the transmitter not working at all or just not passively? You may have accidently turned it off. When you put the key in the ignition next time, turn it to the run position before you start it. Check the lower left corner of the info display and see if the Passive System Active light comes on. If it doesn't then you need to hold down the lock button on the remote (with the key out of the ignition) till the locks cycle once. That'll turn it back on.

you can always order another fob from www.remotesunlimited.com
you just go there and punch in the FCC code on the back of the fob you do have and there ya go you can order another for like 40 bucks?

Does anyone know where I could get a case only for mine, My case is busted but the innards still work, I am currently using elec tape to hold it together, but it looks trashy.

That's funny. I've got one of those too! I just took it off the chain (actually, that part broke also) and keep it in my pocket. Only mess with the keys! :D I plan on going to an aftermarket alarm in the future so I'm not really worried about mine.

OK Guys,
I had the same problem, Turned out to be the horns. Apparently when I bought the car only one horn was working, I rarely if ever use the horn. then on eday I notice the PKE dos'nt work, I go thru all the same stuff you guys are thinking, then I realize the horn does'nt work either. I replace both horns and the PKE works fine again.
So check you horns before any expensive investment's
