Optima Red 78 install
Has anybody installed one of these in their C4 yet? It appears that I need to trim the inner lip of the battery tray so it can slide all the way in. I figured I would check here before I go cutting things.

I put one in my 87. In order to make it fit the front lip on the tray had to be cut. Big mistake!
With that lip removed there is no way to secure the battery. The clamp will still hold it in place, but you will be able to lift up the front of the battery.
My car will not pass tech at track events and auto cross events without the battery firmly secured. I now have a strap also on the battery to prevent it from lifting up.
I'm looking for an undamaged battery tray. The strap looks terrible.
