Middle left (near the PCV valve) you will see a silver looking cover that goes over some hose or something. What is that cover and where can I get it? Thanks
That's the EGR tube thermal insulator; it covers the EGR Tube that carrys exhaust gas from the header into the intake base via the EGR Valve.
That insulator was an integral part of the EGR Tube because, after '87, the EGR Tube has a mounting bracket on each end.
You must either replace the EGR Tube & thermal insulator as an assembly or remove the thermal insulator and replace it with an aftermarket unit such as sold by MAM.
I didn't like the look of the afermarket unit so I bought a new assembly from my local Chevy dealer.

I didn't want to pay for the tube, and I covered mine in aluminum tape. It looks acceptable now. If yours doesn't leak, I would get a new blanket, and just go with it. If it's unacceptable asthetically, cover it with aluminum tape. it thermally bonds to anything that's hot.
Just ordered a EGR Pipe Heat Shield (11 1/4" length) from Mid-America Corvette for $32 shipped Plus, they have it in stock Thanks
This is what I did. The aftermarket replacement shield comes with velcro fasteners on the underside and if you are careful with your installation, its pretty hard to tell the difference from OEM.
