Default C3 or C5

Looking for opinions. I just sold my C4. 1984. I have some money burning a hold in my pocket. Which one would you look at C3 or C5's. I know if i was staying with the C4 .I would look at 94- 96.

If its a DD I'd definitely go with the C5, but if you just want it for weekends go with the C3.

What do you plan on doing with it?

If I got another Vette, I'd get a big block C3

I autocross'ed another member of my club's and it was unreal.

Love the body work on it

Thanks guys I plan to just drive it for pleasure rides. The value for the c3's seem to hold up pretty good.

For a weekend toy, I go with a clean C3 convertible.

I would go for a chrome bumper c3. The c5's are dropping in value. Get a Big block.

Looks like the c3 have it. Plus I think they are easier to work on. But the parts might be harder to find. Thanks again guys

this is how my next vette will look. I have some one with a 69 that wants to trade, but it needs too much work for me right now.

A chrome bumper C3, the C5 is just another not the latest or greatest Corvette that will be sold for 5K before too long in beater driver condition. Now is a good time to buy

if you sold an '84, you don't have very much money at all burning that hole in your pocket.

nostalgia is neat & cute, but its better to add to that little pile of $$ cash, then get yourself into a C5/Z06. you'll forget all about old and rickety.

When I had my 2 C3s most of the drivetrain was readily available. Just don't tell them it is for a Vette. My 72 had an Impala 400 ci SB with 2 bolt mains, 10.5 pistons, stock rods, crank, and intake manifold w/a Holley 650 carb. I put a 3000 rpm converter in front of the TH400 and I added a early Vette cam ( p/n ended with 151 ).
That car would run 14.0 @ 99 mph all day, but as a daily driver it was rough and on a good day would get 10 mpg tops.
I wish I had pics or slips from those days and I don't miss the Goodyear G-60/14? Bias ply tires. Oh the good old days when all that cost less than $1500.
Now this ..

I'd go with the C5 OR get another C4 and get a Collector Edition LT4/6speed or a Grand Sport.

C3 for show C5 for go, of course you could make a C3 a track car too, but the C5/6 is a better starting point.
