The sticky, greasy stuff that holds on the plastic in the door panels. Just purchased door insulators and was wondering if I needed to replace the plastic shield or not?

I used the strip caulk from 3m when I put them on my car. It seems to hold them good enught until I got the panels back on.

I would think you could use windshield butyl seal. It comes in a roll and damn sticky to work with. I bought a box of it from my local body shop for about $10 to seal the evaporator case up.
