Default Oil Leak

Has anyone heard of using Blacklight Dye in your oil to find a leak. If so, where do you get it and how much should you put in the oil.

I can not find my leak. It is leaking on the passenger side all over my starter and exhaust pipes. I looked at the intake and valve covers but they are dry. I guess if what I heard about the blacklight dye,(if it works) it should show me the leak source.

Thanks !!!

You can get it at any decent auto parts store. Just follow the directions on the package.

For best results pressure wash the engine first then pour in the dye. Warm up the engine and let it shine!! Works great for power steering too.

I wouldn't recommend pressure washing if you've got an early, un-vented Optispark module distributor, though. You might get an unpleasant surprise.

Use Simple Green and paper shop towels to wipe down grimy areas.
