Default 1987 corvette DIC

What information is the DIC suppose to provide.
The screen over mines is scratched up and I can't make out the alerts.
What is on when the key is turned on?
What information does it alert you to?
What order, from left to right top to bottom , are the alerts?

I don't have the owners manual.

tttjump,

I have an 87 and a FSM. I will try an answer your question. The Driver Information Center (DIC) is located between the speedometer and the tachometer has an analog fuel gage and 4 multifunction digital displays. The function select switches correspond to the information provided in the 4 corners of the DIC. There is also a telltale screen located to the right of the function select switches. This screen contains the following alerts:

Door ajar
service engine soon
hatch ajar
antilock
Brake
low coolant
security
fasten seatbelt
charge indicator (battery symbol)

I do not remember which order they show up on the telltale display. The FSM does not have a picture of the telltale display but instead lists what is displayed on it. My car is apart right now as I am rebuilding it so I cannot check it on mine. When you turn the key on, all displays light with full brightness for two seconds. I hope this helps.

John
