So I have had my 86 c-4 listed on craigslist, put it on chevelles.com (member there also) as well just to test the waters. and I have gotten hit with a few of the "the price is fair no need to inspect, ignore other offers and my assistant, will pick up your car after you cash my cashiers check" scams, b.s, etc. how dumb are they? what is the deal? I have read about them but this is the first time I have been hit with them.
sorry for the rant but thanks for letting me vent, I will post it here soon I guess, when I get pic's figured out. or maybe someone can host them for me?
Never give out your email on Craigslist, I had the same happen to me while looking for a house. They do think we are stupid...lol Idiots!!! I also have a 86, about 107K miles. I live in Nor*Cal too. Love to see some pics sometime. chow...
I just use the reply through c-l but if you reply then they get your email..... havn't heard anything else.... to another n.cal vetter. when I get home, I will pass along some pics..
I am not too worried, they can contact me again, I will tell them its sold, I stated cash only to them before so I prob. wont hear too much after that....
Crap!! I emailed the guy back before I had any idea it was a scam....... Now what the heck do I do?
Block him as spam.

It's infesting the C4 for sale section and it might end up closing it down due to the con artist floating around over there.

Why would you NOT cash a check if it was sent to you?

You can get a free photobucket account to host pictures at: www.photobucket.com
It's quick, easy, and fast. Hope the scams stop coming to you. Block there emails!

Because the check is fake. The bank will cash it and send him the money electronically. The check will then be sent to the bank of issue and when your bank is notified that the check is a fraud, guess where the money is going to come from to repay the check amount. Your bank account, thats where.
I do need to set up a photobucket acct. just procrastinating.... I just loaded photos into my album on my profile....
hmm I am slow... lol.
I would cash a check but the car wont leave until it clears, or they can just bring cash........ too many rip offs out there, and its unfortunate for the honest ones they get hurt the most.
I met the previous owner of my Vette in the parking lot of his bank with my cashiers check in hand. He handed me the keys after cashing my check. I don't blame the guy one bit, makes it a real PITA to sell anything. I have a motorcycle I want to sell, but not looking forward to the BS.
