Default Non-vette help

A buddy of mine has a 1995 Olds Cutlass Supreme. The Vehicle runs great, besides the fact that after I drive and turn the vehicle off then wait like 10 min. it does not restart. The engine fires up but the RPM gauge just falls out and won’t stay started. I was told it was the voltage regulator so I put a rebuilt alternator in it bc it is built into the alternator. It ran fine for a week or so, started and restarted with no problem then one day it started doing it again. any ideas on what may be causing this?

I put it on another site and this is what I got (let me know if anyone knows about this, or knows something different or something to add):

-Have you checked the plugs?
--changed the plugs and wires on it completely. Was told it could very well be a coil pack going out on it though. So, thats another option ill have to check

-Maybe try unplugging your 02 sensors and starting the car? If the sensors are bad, you might notice an improvement. Don't drive around like this, though.
WARNING: This will throw a CEL. Don't do it if you can't clear it.

I dont have a clue as to what the last statement there even means. any help would be great!
