Default Risks Associated With Targa Top Off

On Thursday I took my top off and picked up my son from school. Well since it was nice out I decided to leave the roof off even though I knew I wouldn't be driving it again the rest of the day., my daughter was also coming home from school and obviously the vette can not take all 3 of us out.

Late on in the day I went to put the top on before taking my son to karate. As I was about to roll the windows down to put the roof on I heard a familiar noise. I turned to look at the passengers window and I saw a little bird trying to fly out. Of course I don't just let him go, I run into the house to get my camera.

I came back out and he was not there, I thought he flew away. Well to my surprise he flew to the dash and was just sitting there. I gently picked him up and sent him on his way after I took a couple of pictures.

Here he his:

My Dad and I practice Taekwondo, both drive 'Vettes, and a couple of other 'students' there also drive 'Vettes. Can we make some kind of Corvette Black Belt Club?

Good on you for rescuing that bird. You gave it the ride of its life!

I had a similar experience. I passed a little bird on a rarely used road. When he didn't fly off, I thought something must be wrong. SO I went back and stopped next to it, got out and walked up to it and it still didn't move. I decided it was injured and decide to take it to a vet. I put it in the car with the windows up and drove off. Suddenly the little bird came to life and started flying around inside as I was driving. I had to duck as he went back and forth from front to rear. I quickly pulled over and opened the door and away he flew
Never did know why he let me just walk up and pick him up

The last bird I caught with one of my Corvettes was in front of the radiator.

Needless to say, it didn't end well for the bird.

He was probably just hit by a passing car and was dazed until he had a change to recuperate...WW

I see you failed to put someones seat belt on. This is why all passengers should wear their seat belts.

I would only imagine that you are joking, especially since I set him free. He was lucky that I didn't feed him to one of cats especially since he pooped in my vette. Now that would have screwed up his life real good.

I'm pretty sure he's commenting on the whole 'bird parents won't nurture a baby bird once it's had contact with humans' thing. If the bird could fly away, I bet it was near ready to leave the nest anyway, so I doubt it's really an issue.

Hell, is that even true? I've heard it my entire life, but I don't think I've ever heard it from a reputably source.
