Default Line locks.....

I had ASR/ABS lights yesterday at the strip doing a burn out. The ASR was off.....I double checked it after last weekend. Why, out of adjustment? Will line locks keep this from happening? Also, can I use them after being staged? I can't seem to hold the car in the box. It wants to creep forward when I get the RPM up. Not good! I'm running MT ET streets and I guess they are holding instead of letting loose.

My car is a '96 auto with a 2800 stall. Thanks!

I'll be watching but I have BFG 315's and a 3200 stall and 373 gear and haven't had creep but I usually don't get that close to the max stall.
I have Dana 44 and custom built drive shaft and half shafts with spicer off road u joints but I still feel their pain if you know what I mean.
The car is a Modified LT 4 engine and I took the ASR off of it but still has the sport steering and FX 3 shocks and adj. traction relocators.

I can say 3200 is close to the max you can run and still be streetable.
I sometimes turn off the ASR on my other 95 when I'm passing cause I don't like anything controlling the engine but a rev limiter.

I think ASR is for novice drivers in marginal conditions .

That's just me of course. I like to drive not let something else make the decisions for me and I don't drive the Vettes in bad weather unless I get caught if I can help it.
Dang hydroplaning BA tires.

I've never had the ASR/Abs lights light up ever in either car with the line locks.

Your front brake pads might not be up to snuff. I had a similar problem with my stock converter. I was trying to get my RPM's up to 2000 and my brakes wouldn't hold. Problem #1 I learned was that with a stock converter 2000 RPM's is too high. I was also having a difficult time staging my car at 1200 RPM's. The brakes wouldn't stop the car exactly were I wanted it to stop. It would kind of fade to a stop.

I just changed my brake pads with a set of Hawk performance pads and now staging my car is so much more precise.

So, would it be best to get the line locks and if they don't hold then it must be the front pads. The pads are Bendix I have on there now. They have less than 10K on them.

I have a line lock system on my car and use it for burn-outs only, not for holding the car at the line. The line lock does not throw any codes.

I had the best brake pads that Napa sells for an 87 Vette. The Hawk pads are much better.

Thanks Doug,
I think I'll change the pads first and see if that helps. Which Hawks pads HPS or HP Plus or the ceramic? The drag thing is only going to happen maybe 8 -10 times a year if that many. I'd still like to get a low dust pad for the street.

That might be the problem as mine has the C5 front brake upgrade.
More is always better.

The performance ceramic. I can't find my shipping slip, but the # on the back brake box is HB173Z.570.

Hope that solves your problem.
