VIS Report?
Greetings,
I'm new to this board but looking at buying a '92 C4 from a local dealer and becoming a regular. I understand CARFAX checks are not allowed, but asking for a vehicle service report on its history is ok.
The VIN is 1G1YY23P8N5101614
Any help is much appreciated. I do plan to check it out on autocheck.com as well just in case.

If the car is at a dealership, the service department should be able to run a vehicle history report for you. Tell the salesguy it's a condition before the sale.
But that report only shows what work had been done on the car by a GM dealer. Anything done at an independent shop won't be on there.
The VIS should show what options are on the car too. But it could be that '92 may be too far to go back in the GM database for a VIS.
01614 is a very early car; probably made in the first couple of months of production.
