Had a big scare tonight, my wife complained of a nasty smell in the garage, when I went in there I noticed her car ('89 Camry) was full of smoke - it's right next to my Vette
I got inside and opened the hood and managed to get the battery off before any more damage occured - it was so close to catching fire. Turns out the door lock motor had melted (the other lock motors have been failing over the past few weeks)
Still, my corvette is okay - my wife's car is airing out tongiht, and after that it's gonna have to stay outside for a few nights before I let in back in.
Close call, I don't know what I'd have done if there'd been a fire. I guess I'd at lest get working ABS after the insurance payout :D
I don't think there's anything but cosmetic damage to my wife's car, but I won't know until I reconnect the battery - I'm just glad she wasn't in it when it started smoking.
Parts of the door panel are melted and there's quite a bit of black scorch marks - don't know how I'm gonna get that smell out though.
