Dirty Rims

I have the original rims on my 1986 corvette. they look like they have a lot of stuck on dirt that isn't coming of when scrubbing and using rim/tire cleaner. does anyone have any suggestions or tips on how i can get them to be shiny or some what better looking then they use to?

When I had the stock wheels on my 86 I used Simple Green w/Scotch Bright. Then I polished them with Mothers Mag/Alum polish, they turned out great. Hope this helps...

Turtle wax bug and tar remover in the paste form. Cleaned 22 years of grime off the inside of my rims when nothing, I mean nothing else would.

I use the Simple Green (blue bottle) Precision Equipment Degreaser as several people here on this board recommended it. It really breaks up the grime, grease, dirt and everything else without a lot of scrubbing.
