I picked up a used set from a forum member a couple of years ago. They were in excellent shape, the correct color and were a bargain compared to new ones. I couldn't see installing a brand new panel into an interior that showed wear, it would of seemed out of place to me. I installed them last year, finally, and they look fantastic! You might want to check the forum to see if anyone is parting out a low mileage car.

I know your price is fixed and you can wait to sell.

But $500-700 for a set of door panels for a car only worth 4-5K is way too much to spend these days. Maybe 250-300 a pair would have your inventory moving.

Not asking for a hand-out, just my 2 cents.

Honestly, I’m not sure how to respond to this statement!

I will try to start with the fact that this was exactly my basis used when I alone lobbied ACC for lower carpet prices on the C4 cars!

I know you are right, the cost is not determined by us, nor is the value of the car! There may be used panels out there cheaper!

In defense of Corvette America, the insight was there when our last price changes came in to effect! The retail prices on interior products for the C4 cars dropped in the last round of price changes from them. I’m not sure it is humanly possible to make a door panel for a C4 car cheaper than they sell them to us for!

The C4 panels are cheaper now than they were a year ago!

Our goal here is to deliver the best product possible at the lowest price possible and give the Corvette Forum members prices lower than any price we advertise elsewhere!

If you apply the discount coupon to the prices the come out even cheaper!

Thank you,

Willcox Inc.

I know you will not answer this but...How much mark up is there ? I'd guess they have room to sell them at a lower price but thats where greed steps in. If they did I would replace mine as well. I did buy willcox weather stripping and I am happy with it but I'm with JR on this one.

I've bought your rear window gasket and carpet kits.

The price was great and same with the fit.

Maybe I'll have the spare cash for door panels in the future.

Until then, Thanks for supporting the forum.

The new panels are high quality. They are better than factory, a bit more structurally sound at the top. Yep, they're a bit pricey, but as was said, there is a cost to making things that isn't based on their use. To me, the door panels are key items. Mine look and feel new, and aren't out of place on my old car. I touch them every time I get in and out of the car, and I see them all the time.

Only your own personal tastes and economic circumstances can tell you whether they are worth the money or not. To me, they were worth it, no doubt.

I actually have a set of the standards on my (well on the car my wife drives) car. . .

I wish I had went with the deluxe panels since I destroyed the upper support plastic studs taking the old panels apart.

Like a mule I messed with them for 2 days trying to keep from buying new but bit the bullet anyway.

Most my other hardware was in good shape so I guess the standards with two new supports was still better on me than the deluxe cost.

They really are quite nice and way................way better than the original panels.

IMHO,

Willcox

My door panels are in fair to good condition other than the top attachment of the panels, more so the left, they do not want to stay against the door. I had called the shop that did the weatherstripping job and they said they would reattach the panels.
I think there is something wrong with the top of the panels something broke or missing. Since I've never seen a new/good one beats me. The prior post mentioned broken plastic studs. Maybe there is someway I can mod them to keep the top of the panel hugging the door? (Nice pretty black screws with washers)??I agree the panels and carpet verses the value of the car are way overpriced.

Yup tried to fix mine this winter. 700 is way to much for what is there. At that price I dont see them selling that many.

If the upper trim is good do what I did and go for the standards. Apply the discount coupon code to the price and I think it makes this a product that is affordable.

What I've bought before from Wilcox was nice...good service too!

Can't figure out door panel pricing though. Does your code discount standard door panels 10%? (Last year, it seemed the going price was about 90% of where it is now. I should have bought them then!)

I am about ready to dye panels to avoid buying new. Times are definitely tough!

Mine were shot but with enough time and materials could probably have been rebuilt plus the cost of replacing the carpet which is 22 years old and faded. So to me the the equation was relatively simple. My time is better spent working to pay for the new panels than investing countless hours in rebuilding those door panels and perhaps ending up with something that is a compromise. I bought mine from Willcox (Corvette America) and they are far better than the factory units. Bite the bullet! IMHO
