Since I have not put the carpet back in (except for the rear) now would probably be a good time to ditch the non-functioning original AM-FM-Cassette in my '92 coupe. I'm an older guy and I'm not into the heavy-duty blasters popular with the younger crowd. I just want an AM-FM-CD player which looks reasonably close to stock, does not require modification of the dash, and preferably uses the same locations for speakers as original. Yes, I want decent sound, but not something which is top of the line and cubic dollars. I have so much going on I will wind up having it put in, and not attempt to do it myself. Any suggestions? Thanks!
lways had luck with crutchfields. they have where you can select your car and year and will show products that will fit. they also include some adapters that you will need. as well as instructions on hot to remove the old equipment and install the new equipment. good luck
Ecklers has a well known pioneer that will match the C4 generation to a T. I replaced the old AC/Delco Bose system with the non-bose FM CD player and put some fairly cheap Jensens in the back and it's all the sound you'll need. Oh, I'm 42, so I think were on the same page here. Country or Rock, it's a nice sound, even with the door speakers removed. Although you won't get it for less than 475 bucks, unless you barter with the sales rep at Ecklers, like I did, and got it for about 439 dollars.....Hope this helps....

I have the same Pioneer head unit and all Pioneer speakers. No amps no subs (I am an old guy too) The thing sounds great to me. I think Crutchfield sell the same or very similar Pioneer.
