C4 Drivetrain Pics
From Carlisle '07. If I recall correctly this was supposed to be a 90 and was for sale at the show.
Sorry if this is a dupe for some of you as I posted this a couple of years ago. For those of you who have never seen this then it is quite interesting to see the C beam setup and how it all ties together.
Great shots, I had also taken similar pictures with my cell phone (not nearly as good) and printed them for future reference. It really was helpful seeing it stripped down like that to understand how it all tied together. Thanks for sharing.
That's an early L98 engine because the 90 used an aluminum A/C compressor, had a Map sensor and center bolt valve covers. Also, the Cuisinart wheels are from an 88-89 since the 90 had a specific open lug wheel. Those wheels are missing the lug nut cover as you can see the ridge where the cover would sit.
Whats that metal beam thats connecting the trans to the rear end and covers the driveshaft??? Mine doesnt have that.
Yours almost has to have it unless it's had major modification. That's the C-beam everyone is refering to. Without it or some type of fabbed crossmember you would have no transmission mount.
BTW I think that would be one heck of a weight removal package
Ok talk about paranoid, my '85 DOES have the C beam in place. I always thought it was something to do with the manual trans being bolted to the underside of the car. I never noticed it before because its completely black and blended in with the rest of the bottom of the car.
