Hey guys i was wondering what kind of car cover you would suggest for my car for a reasonable price. I am moving to the desert with no garage. I am looking for something that will protect it from the sun and the sand mainly.
I don't think you had better go cheap on the cover being parked outside in that kind of heat not to mention the sand storms that WILL blow through from time to time. I would suggest you at least use something like this if not better. Copper
I got bad news for you my friend, a car cover in the desert is a bad idea. Sand will manage to get underneath and will "sandblast" your paint.
It happened to me, in 2002 my 92 Vert's paint got sandblasted and it had a car cover I paid $150.
I recommend to get the Vette in a storage.
I've never been in a desert, but I have spent considerable time on and around the beaches here in Florida. From my experience and talking to those who live on the beaches, this advice is spot on.
Blowing sand is evil. Blowing sand trapped under a cover and whipped around by the wind is evil squared.
Please get some type of enclosure to protect your Corvette.
Thanks guys, i will have to check out the links. Believe me, i really would love nothing more then to put her in sometype of storage but i am in the Military and all they have are parking lots, and i can almost guarantee that they wouldnt let me put a carport or something in the parking lot. I dont know what to do.
