I read in a few magazines and books the build sheets were put under the seats, under the carpet, behind the dash or even stuffed in the suspension. I don't know when they stopped putting them on the gas tanks, but I think it was in the late 80s. I don't know, hopefully someone can tell us where they found theirs.

I have a 96 and the build sheet is still on top of the gas tank under the gas tank strap.
A few years back I got the reprint build sheet and window sticker from the Corvette Museum. I tried reaching up on my tank 5, 6 years ago and didn't feel any paper. Maybe mine is still there, I just didn't or couldn't reach far enough.

I found mine when I took the license plate off. It is on top of the tank to the right. I just haven't had time to try to take the strap off to get it yet.

On both my '93 LT1 and my '90 ZR1, I found the buildsheet in the front crossmember. They were both oily and ripped in pieces from me trying to fish them out of that tiny 1-inch oval hole. I looked everywhere on the gas tank on both cars, but unfortunately there is no build sheet there on either one.
I will just have to get both of them from NCM. It will look lots nicer, especially with the lamination on.
Thanks guys for the clues and pictures. If memory serves me right I did reach through the license area. My 85 was on jack stands for about 8 months and no mufflers on it when I first got it. So, I had all kinds of access. It probably isn't there anymore.
I'm an old timer when it comes to Corvettes. 29 years ago I got mine off of my 74s tank. It was glued on. I guess under the strap on C4s is better than glue.
Oh, maybe you're right Y-ME it could be towards the back.
