opti reliability on daily driver?
As somebody else looking at his first Corvette purchase within a year or two, I really appreciate this thread. I, too, have feared the Opti; in fact, for the longest time ignored all Corvettes that had the distributor in question. (In fact, some of you may have seen my earlier post where I mentioned having my eyes on a 1990 because of its Opti-less L98.) Now that I know it's not as bad as reported, I'm really taking an interest in the '96 LT4 cars. I once drove one and liked it but the 100k miles scared me off. Anyway, thanks for all the input. I wonder what '95s are going for... --Brian

As long as the opti doesnt get soaked, then the car will be reliable in that regard. When it does get old you will usually have missing, high rpm stumbling, things like that before it just quits working altogether.
