Ok, wheels are done on the car... can't decide on my next mod. I'm thinking exhaust... either long tube headers, no cats into stock mufflers... or just doing a power Effects system and no headers yet. I'm planning on doing a hot cam kit and torque convertor sometime, but not sure when.. could be a while before I do that..
My suggestion would be the exhaust...as much as you can afford. I've always heard that when doing mechanical mods, start at the back and work your way forward. :D
I'd still suggest the exhaust next. Then headers...THEN start from the back again with the gear change and work forward to the cam. The exhaust won't give you much of a SOP performance change, but it'll let everything forward perform to it's potential.
My vote would be exhaust. Mine has the stock exhaust and the car sounds like grandma's buick. That's one thing I want to change.
i know this will sound odd but ever since i replaced that y-pipe my car is so much quieter and it better that way. Now i can actually have a conversation in my car without saying "what?" every other sentince.
If your only changing the exhaust for the sound then try muffler eliminators first. Then go to a new exhaust system if you still haven't achieved the sound your looking for :yesnod: You could save a few bucks towards your next mod with just muffler eliminators.
I want more then just a better sounding exhaust... I know cat back won't give me much... thinking headers with no cats and stock mufflers will give me both power and sound. I dynoed the car today at 100% stock... (253 HP, 289 TQ) So I think my 1st mod might be the LT-4 hot cam kit, then convetor and headers at the same time.
