Default Window Tint

I am looking to get my window tint redone. I think I'm going with 5% on the hatch and 20% on the sides. What do you think? Too dark or not? Will I have trouble seeing at night?

I have 4% on the hatch and I don't have any issues seeing out during the day or night. Can still see headlights behind you but now they won't blind you so I think it's even better.

Most states allow you to tint whatever you want on the rear window. It's the sides where they have a problem. Most states set the side window(s) limit at 32 or 35 (I think it's that). If you have windows on the side for the back seat, you can do what you want too. I know that 5% (limo tint) is quite dark at night and I do have limited vision. During the day, it's fine but at night, it's a little hard to see. The side windows (32) is easy to see through. My DD is 32 and my Vette is 20. Any number lower than 32 (or 35) on the side windows is illegal in most states and despite mine being 20, I can easily see through them during the day, and at night, it's no problem either. If you want to take a chance on getting stopped, get 20 on the sides. 5 is too much for a side window and it's an invitation to get stopped.

I did two tone in the rear, the centerband darker and the imaginary b to c pillar lighter, like the doors and a dark visor sweet.....

I just pulled my aging tint off the hatch and firmly belive that nothing is stronger than tint glue while nothing is weaker than tint film. It took hours to get it off w/o a single nick in the defroster tracings. Now I'm looking to put more on. I don't mind having it in four parts because the seams can be placed at a defroster line.

BTW a male cat peed on my passenger side floormat... maybe cat pee is the strongest substance known to man. I can only imagine when Obiwan sensed the millions of souls on Alderan die that that sensation times 1,000 is about what I felt when I got my first whiff.

Does your cat like Corvette rides?

I love my tint - now I want it on all my cars

side windows are a little dicey at night in poorly-lit streets, when turning left into a street. I sometimes drop the window a bit just to be safe

edit - sry quoted wrong comment.. can't be arsed to fix it

Oh I didn't do the story justice.

I was setting the car up for the sun+trashbag+tint release and had the doors and hatch open and windows down. I closed it all up. (no the cat was not closed up inside the car. I never saw it actually in the car) Then I left the car to bake in the sun for several hours. When I went to move the car back inside I got a full dose of sun heated cat ****. I think my mouth was open too...

the floor mat is scent free now. I tried the hose no good... I tried dawn no good... I finally sprayed it down with the purple cleaner and scrubbed the **** out of it.
