What are common problems with say a 94 Vette, and what are typical maintnance cost for one.(ex. Tune ups, and any other thing that they may typically need or have problems with.)
Thanks
Depending on miles, you got the waterpump and Optispark, I changed both at 76,000 miles, some go longer some a little shorter.
Brakes, especially fronts.
Usually the rear tires are more worn.
Clutch, wheel hubs/bearings, u-joints.
None of these are a big worry unless over 50-60 thousand miles.
Well, common problems with a Corvette are the about the same as with any car. My car a 1993 with 94k in the last 6 months I've replaced the battery.
$55.00.
Last week I had the oil changed and the plugs changed. I brought the oil and the plugs to a shop and the labor for the work was $90.00.
I replaced the serp belt myself but I had to make a tool to do it.
The belt was $50.00 GM only.
The opti-spank is a common problem with LT-1's. The engine pulley must be removed to replace it, but it unbolts so it isnt all that hard to do.
The only problem my car had when I bought it (At 55k miles) was the weatherstripping was worn, and it would leak a little under heavy rain. Other than that no problems, cept for extra attention from the cops :D
i have heard some lt1`s have a oil leak problem around the back of the intake manifold, the only reason i bring that up is it happened on my 93 formula and since then probing the boards i have seen that talked about as "the dreadded lt1 oil leak", i got rid of the car, and said i would never have another lt1 car but i`ll be damned if i`m not looking for one right now, this time a vette mabey its just a prob in the camaros, transam, and formulas. i still hava a nasty oil stain in my garage, my formula had 67 thousand on it when it happened.
