Went for a drive today on PCH. I saw about 10 - 15 vettes, c-4s and c-5s. 1 was a yellow c4 vert. Not one wave, I did get a glance and smile from a Blue c-5. I guess Orange County ain't the place to wave. Just my 2 cents. :seeya is  in OC. = wave is dead in OC.
Come to BG, that's where the serious Corvette people come, the people who know what it's about. You have to remember that there are a good deal of Corvette owners out there who just have a lot of money and want to show it off. Personally I'm broke, and this car means something to me. I kinda like it that way.

Re: The wave is dead! (morphious)
I feel your pain, Morph, I've posted on this before and I'm kinda fed up with the lack of return myself. Plus it's not like they couldn't see you in yellow! From now on if they wave I will, otherwise I'm out! :D
Nine times out of ten, I'll initiate the wave,
and 90% of the time I don't get a return either.
I did receive a reciprocal wave from a silver C5 in the
Texas Instruments parking lot Friday, but my window
was down and my hand was outside the car.
I think tinted windows here in the land of the all day
blast furnace is one explanation for the lack of
camaraderie in fiberglass. Consider the wave below
a blanket wave to all forum menbers...
well heres a wave for ya, :seeya , as for the people here in Vancity who drive vettes well whenever they see any other vette it seems they're always awstruck that theres another vette out there and usually forget to wave. :(
I don't think that it is dead, I think there are corvette owners and then there are car owners who just happen to drive a corvette. :seeya :seeya :seeya
When I first got a Vette many years ago, I used to wave and waited to see whether I got a wave back.
Nowadays, I still wave to every Vette I see, but I try not to keep eye contact. That way, I won't see whether they wave back or not, and the non-wavers won't ruin my good mood.
Anyway, I chimed in becuase I stopped to get gas on my way home tonight, and was reminded of an unpleasant experience I had at that station some months ago. There was another Vette (a C5) at the other end of the station, and when it drove away, I gave her a wave . . . hard to avoid eye contact, since I was out of the car pumping gas. Not only did she not wave back, she gave me a nasty look, almost like a snarl. Well, thank you very much. Ruined the good feeling I always have when I'm out with my Vette.
There ought to be a law that says ****** aren't allowed to own and drive Corvettes.

I agree, lots of owners of corvettes that just don't have a clue about corvette ownership and its responsiblities :seeya :seeya
