I’ve got the squeak….but only when I have a passenger. When I drove alone, there is no squeak, but as soon as someone is in the passenger seat, it is awful. It seems to come from the right corner of the dash. I would think it would be in the seat area, but no.
I was wondering if a replacement windshield might be squeaker that the original….any way to tell if one has been replaced?
For a winter project or one section at a time for a Saturday am project try taking off pieces of interior trim clean and if can not be made really tight use some velcro the felt side or double stick tape to keep the parts from sliding back and forth making the plastic to plastic squeak. WD40 works in some cases as well but use sparingly as it stinks..LOL.. When I got my 91 it had more squeaks than a mattress in a flea bag motel and sounded like a flock of little birds on a feeding frenzy going over any road not perfectly smooth. Now I hadly ever hear one so it can be done given time and effort. Most things were just plain loose or dried plastic rubbing against dry plastic.
Thanks for the reponse....I really enjoyed the description of your squeak factor.
In the end, there are no short cuts...I just need to in there and look around. Trouble is, I'll have to let someone ELSE drive so I can hear where it is really coming from...not sure I'm ready to do that.
