I currently own a 90 corvette. I purchased the car last september, and the car came with a top that had a crack in it, and also had a bubble in the center from all the heat. The guy who I bought the car from said he had another frame for a targa top that came with the car. The other top that was in a little better shape, just a slight crack in the corner. So I took the "frame" that he gave me to a body guy that I know. He fixed the crack and painted the top to match my car which is a maroon colored car. I went to the body shop today to pick up the top, and it turned out beautiful. When I went to put it on the car I noticed it did not fit! I took the tops off and compared the fittings and now see that its not the same. Is there anything I can do about this? I thought that these tops fit every year, but I guess im wrong!

There were three styles of front mounting pins: 84 - E85, L85 - 87, 88 - 96. (I think the first two types are correct but I may be off by a year. In any case the third pin type was used before 1990 and continued through 1996).
It's possible the extra top he has was for an earlier model year. Check the front pins, if they're the same as the ones on the top that came with the car then you should be alright, you'll just have to adjust the top to fit your car.
