I just had a new set of tires (Kumho Ecta's) put on my '93 recently and couldn't quite figure out why they looked odd....until today.
These idiots put the 255/45's on the 9.5 wheels and the 285/40's on the 8.5 wheels! I've gotta admit, it gave the rear tires a pretty mean look, but the fronts were what had me raising an eyebrow...un-freakin'-real!
So now I've got an appointment to have them fix their error. I hate other people touching my car...do I have to buy a tire changer for the shop now??
Most of the tire changers (usually kids) at these shops are much like fresh doctors out of a south american med school. They might know something but I don't want them working on me.
You gotta watch them the whole time. Make especially sure they don't use the impact to tighten the lugs.
